Night Maze: a Journey into the Residue of Karma

Turning my head to see, indeed, if I had closed the door I had the strangest and most overpowering feeling of something suddenly moving in the darkness of the hallway. Yes, something was there all right. Something was lurking in the darkened hallway with me. I tried, in a most inopportune time in my life, to think rationally; before I could even begin to think, something moved quite rapidly towards me. I could sense its movement in the darkness of my mind. My nose and mouth suddenly felt the impact of a heavy object. I saw, for very few moments, flashes of circular lights suddenly lighting up and bursting, sending small particles of light in different directions of my mind's eye. Pain and shock thundered throughout my entire being. Something had hit me squarely in the face. I was momentarily dumbfounded with shock; as a result I immediately fell to my knees. Explosion after explosion took place within the area of my pliable brain. I could feel myself continuing to fall from my once kneeled position. I saw, however, before all the lights went out, Mary Meredith standing over me with a spade in her hands, and on her face was a very sincere smile.
