Searching for a Clean Bill of Health: One Mother's Story
Susan Jamieson
I have always been inspired by people that are willingto make a stand for what they believe in onNovember 9, 1995, the doctors at the Hospital forSick Children, Toronto, CANADA, told me that mydaughter's bone marrow had stopped producingblood. She would need on-going transfusions to stayalive. I am a Jehovah's Witness and accept thecommand in the Bible that prohibits the use of blood. My Search for a Clean Bill of Health starts in Canada, takes me into the United States, then on to Europeand most recently now to the Middle East. I have come to understand through my experiencethat courage is in fact the conquest of fear, not theabsence of fear.
