Modern Christianity seems to have changed the rules along the way about what it means to be a Christian. In our churches, our faith is made as fun and as easy as possible. With little or no demands on our time and energy, the church struggles to compete with the world's pleasures -- using its own version of those pleasures -- and often loses. People are leaving the church by the millions because it doesn't touch the needs of the soul. In an effort to win the battle, the church has lost the war. In the Bible, however, we read about the life of sacrifice, a disciplined worker, a trained soldier, a holy priest who works for the expansion of Christ's Kingdom on earth. The true Christian doesn't need any cheap motivators to take God and the church seriously -- he is driven to succeed by Christ's Spirit within him.
