Under Kilimanjaro
Ernest Hemingway
Accompanied by his fourth wife Mary, Ernest Hemingway spent several months in late 1953 and early 1954 on his final safari in Kenya. Their time there came to an abrupt end in early January 1954 when they sustained serious injuries. While recovering, Hemingway wrote his ""African book"", which is, by turns, an adventuresome, comedic, and thoughtful recounting of his final safari.
