Northampton County was created in 1752 from Bucks County. It is situated in the eastern most region of the state along the Delaware river, just across the border from Warren and Sussex Counties New Jersey. It is the parent county in whole or part to: Cabon, Lehigh, Monroe, Pike, Schuylkill and Wayne counties.
