The Death of Tidericus the Organist: Plague and Conspiracy Theory in Hanseatic Visby
Richard Cole
This study of medieval antisemitism and conspiracy theory edits, translates and interprets two Hanseatic letters that reveal an alleged poisoning conspiracy in 14th-c. Visby, on Gotland in Sweden, which sought to blame the Jews for the Black Death, despite their probable absence in Visby at the time.
