Annie Wolf was minding her own business reporting for the local paper in Beckley, West Virginia until Ralphie Johnson came along and turned her world upside down -- literally. What began as an innocent crush leads to an underworld filled with unusual inhabitants bound and determined -- among other things -- to remove the tolls from the interstate. And a Pulitzer prize for Annie -- IF she's willing to sacrifice the sanctuary of the innocent, well-meaning creatures below. But first she must somehow escape from deep within the bowels of the earth with her very life.

In this (supposedly) fictional underworld, you'll meet the likes of the Mothman, the Braxton County Monster, maybe even Jimmy Hoffa. Who knows. But you will find comfort in that we are not alone. We've just been looking the wrong direction. . .
