The Girl in the Bell Tower

"As a child, I wore a dead girl's boots." Growing up in a bell tower, isolated and deaf, Wisp spent her days ringing a bell she could not hear. When cruel carnival master Zorman whisks her away at the age of fourteen, she becomes a ten-cent sideshow freak-THE UNDEAD GIRL. "Have your dimes ready, folks, and step right up to see a living corpse!" On display in a dusty caravan, Wisp befriends other sideshow acts: Dog Girl ("From the wilds, a girl part beast, part human!"), Monster Sam ("Witness a real monster!"), and Skeleton Lady ("The most horrific sight of this world"). Yet it is the forbidden love with the huckster and former slave SaeSae, a creator of potions, that makes Wisp feel alive. But can the huckster truly create a potion to give Wisp what she most wants-love-or is that another of his cons?
