A solo traveller sits at a bus stop and decides, on a whim, to find out what 'is better' in the Bahamas, and boards an evening flight. But, it is 1983, the heart of the drug smuggling years where millions of dollars of cocaine flowed through the Bahamas into Miami. And this is the Bahamas, former home of Blackbeard and pirates, rum runners with fast clippers, of freed slaves and failed economies and holiday homes for British elite. What begins as an innocent adventure of a day, or two, unfolds into a wandering journey, of being profiled by a border agent, of being marooned on the 'elusive' island of Eleuthera, of being sidetracked on a mail boat through a tropical storm to be dropped on an near empty island in the Exumas, of near death and new found life, of long lost souls and enduring love for one not returned, of near misses and lessons learned and life lived and closure for one whose life had reached its end. It's a story of youth, and mistakes one makes when youth has no fear. And, it's a story in which you may not help but see some of yourself, and a story of adventure you'll not soon forget. This story is based on actual events of October of 1983
