It recounts his inning legacy - each of the 409 games are in this book. Joseph Vincent Paterno is the winningest coach in major College Football. He was not only a great man but he was an outstanding foootball coach. There are many malevolent people in life. We meet them every day. Joe Paterno was not one of them! As I researched my first book about Great Moments in Penn State Football, I had to discuss the Sandusky scandal and end that book with the state of the team with the current coach and administration. This book does not address the scandals in any way. Joe Paterno is the winningest Division I coach ever, period. For those of us who care a lot, 409 isn't just about football. It's about great success with honor. I admit that I am a Paterno fan. Reading through Joe Paterno's coaching record, which constitutes better than 60% of Penn State's winning record overall, it is tough to not have him as your # 1 coach of all time. He coached the best players and the best teams of all time. His teams played against the best and he passed an endurance test, coaching into his eighties. Nobody ever expected a Joe Paterno team to lose. I rest my case. You will not be able to put this book down.
