The second full-day seminar was presented to about a thousand people at The Marco Polo Hotel, Shenzhen. This presentation starts with understanding the fundamentals of switching power conversion and soon describes very practical information towards ensuring a truly successful design. The author shares first-hand experiences of troubleshooting, spanning India, Singapore, Germany and the US. Included are important issues in PCB design, paralleling converters, and also understanding how semiconductor manufacturers often fudge very important information, such as MIN-MAX of current limits, and the consequences of that to the unsuspecting designer. Lots of "gotchas"!
