Jonah's Crossing
Tom Nash
Small-town store owner, Jonah Cross, walks across a canal bridge at twilight, hoping to find his missing wife in the woods. His search is thwarted when he crosses into an enchanted "other world," a forest inhabited by ghosts, a wise, gnomish old guardian and a grumpy sasquatch named Yalkstaw. While searching for his wife, Jonah finds evidence of a murder committed in 1937. To solve the murder, he is forced to join a secret society full of old timers, who hide from their wives and tell tales inspired by cheap drinks. Does Jonah find his wife and solve the murder? Surely he has a ghost of a chance!
