Serenade the Fire: American Sonnets for the Apocalypse
Barnabas Smith
These poems were written in the spring of 2020 during the Stay-at-Home orders of Colorado state and Boulder County in reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. This time at home caused many of us to reflect on our lives, our communities, and the institutions we interact with.
This collection was written in the style of the American sonnet. A style created by Wanda Coleman and recently championed by Terrance Hayes.
