The Adventures of Malachi Vivian Bevins

All creatures, great or small, are created with the instinct to survive. Parents may teach them how and where to find food, and once learned, they are out on their own.

Malachi has learned the lessons and is out searching for food. When it grows dark, he does not know what is happening until he finds himself in the midst of a hard rain. He scurries to find shelter and runs into a hard wall. Following along the wall, he comes to the entrance of a church. Here, he finds a home and place to find food. Sometime in his quest for food, he encounters frightful circumstances. A sweet girl comes to his rescue, and he becomes her pet.
