Louis Spohr
The popular early Romantic composer, conductor and virtuoso violinist Louis Spohr (1784–1859) began writing his memoirs in 1847, and this English translation appeared in 1865. It is a lively (though occasionally inaccurate) account of Spohr's experiences as a professional musician travelling widely in Europe, including several visits to England.
