Adolf Furtwangler
Adolf Furtwängler (1853–1907) was a prominent German archaeologist and art historian. He is best known for developing the Kopienkritic approach to studying Roman sculpture, which dominated the study of classical sculpture in the twentieth century. He introduces this approach in this volume, first published in English in 1895.
