J. Tyrwhitt Brooks
J. Tyrwhitt Brooks was a pseudonym of the nineteenth-century publisher and journalist, Henry Vizetelly (1820–94). This work of 1849 purported to be a genuine diary about the early days of the Californian Gold Rush, and was widely accepted as such, but Vizetelly later acknowledged it was a complete fiction.
