Frederick Wollaston Hutton
Frederick Wollaston Hutton (1836-1905) devoted his career to the natural history of New Zealand. In 1904, with James Drummond, he published this illustrated handbook of native vertebrates, and this expanded fourth edition appeared in 1923. The main focus is on birds, but marine mammals, bats and reptiles also feature.
