Edith Jemima Simcox
Edith Simcox (1844–1901), campaigner for educational reform and women's rights and a prolific writer, was a friend and admirer of George Eliot (1819–80). This, her second book, published in 1882, is a collection of essays and stories, some of which draw on Eliot's life for inspiration.
