Richard Bright (1789–1858), later physician-extraordinary to Queen Victoria, describes his observations while travelling in eastern Europe. Published in 1818, the book was one of a very few works on Hungary in English, and contains a great deal of information about Gypsies, whose life and language greatly intrigued Bright.
