In 1892 Scottish artist W. G. Burn Murdoch (1862–1939) joined an expedition that left from Dundee to hunt whales in Antarctica. This is his account of the journey, complete with sketches. First published in 1894, the work also contains a chapter by expedition naturalist William S. Bruce (1867–1921).
