John Bartram
Botanist and explorer John Bartram (1699–1777) set out in 1743 on an expedition into Iroquois lands. Published in London in 1751, this short work chronicles his six-week journey, touching on the native people and the region's ecology. It also includes a letter on Niagara Falls by the naturalist Peter Kalm.
