The Anglican clergyman John Harris (c.1666–1719) was an important promulgator of Newtonian science. In this 1719 publication, aimed at a well-to-do readership, he uses illustrated dialogues with a fictional aristocratic lady to explain astronomical concepts and contemporary scientific apparatus, such as globes and the newly created orrery.
