Marc Notes: Research on MFI performance is still in its infancy. MFIs are hybrid organizations with dual objectives. Performance studies in microfinance are therefore less straightforward compared to performance studies in traditional banking research. This book contains new MFI performance research by top scholars from across the globe. Biographical Note: Roy Mersland is Professor at the School of Business and Law at the University of Agder in Norway. He has extensive international management, consulting and research experience. He is member of the Centre for European Research in Microfinance located in Brussels and is Director of the Norwegian Centre for Microfinance Research. R. Oystein Strom is Professor at the School of Business, Oslo and Akershus University College, Norway.
