In order to reach his goal, the author first studied in deep the critical analysis of the "Secret History of the Mongols", distrustful also the oldest sources, like Rashid al-Din who has never visited Mongolia and never directly talked with an eyewitness to the facts he described. Such distrust has become necessary also for the historical sources of the seventeenth century, as well as for those scholars who have not verified their hypotheses on the field.
