It had always been my intention to see the Moai on Easter Island, and the carved stones representing the Bird Man. So, during our travels in South America in February 2009, we did not hesitate to satisfy my desire. Easter Island, or Rapa Nui, is distant from Santiago by 3500Km, so our flight across the Pacific Ocean lasted 4 hours. It was a most rewarding journey, and my sketches record some of the wonders of this remote island.
