Sojourn is a series of tales involving an American going back to Europe to find what living in a less complex land would be like. The pastoral charm of coastal Ireland was a plea to the soul. Each story is a story to itself, describing the societal differences between those who stayed behind during the famine and those who immigrated to America in the last two centuries. The fun was playing and pleading, discussing and debating, then trying to understand and be understood.
