Social Differentiation in the Late Copper Age and Early Bronze Age in South Moravia (British Archaeological Reports British Series)
Daniel Sosna
This study uses data from the region of South Moravia in the Czech Republic to test theoretical hypotheses about changes in social differentiation and gender relations during the transition from the Late Copper to the Early Bronze Age, and the role played by economic changes in these. In fact Sosna finds little archaeological evidence in this region for institutionalisation of vertical social differences, but that the transition from Late Copper to Early Bronze Age did see a decrease in gender inequality, with a decreasing number of domains that signal gender differences.
