Captain Bill and "Admiral" Clare set sail in their yacht-home, Fortress Cove for a seven-year ocean voyage. In Blue Water Odyssey Bill recalls some of the highlights of that 50,000 statute mile adventure. Each of the twenty chapters and forty-seven sub chapters briefly recounts events that range from bizarre to humorous; from terrifying to x-rated; from informative to foolish; and from depressing to exhilarating. Some who dare to dream of visiting far away places under a spread of sail may be enticed to do the deed themselves; some will be rewarded by vicariously joining them in their travels; and some will content themselves with the realization that they have wisely chosen to avoid the vicissitudes of Neptune's Realm in the safety and comfort of air travel and motoring on express ways. This is not a "Ho-hum" type of book. The author has attempted to present the best, the worst, and the most wonderful events that punctuated the odyssey of Fortress Cove. The sea has many, many more of such events awaiting those who choose to live the challenge.
