The Blaze Chronicles
William Nichols
Nolan F. Blaze is an astronaut that left earth in the year 2010 on a three-year mission. He returns a thousand years into the future where science and magic are both common place. He finds himself on a mission to Red Mountain to stop a wizard from bringing a thousand year old doomsday satellite to earth. Along the way, he is forced to take any man or woman he can convince that his mission is of the utmost importance. This proves to be almost as daunting as the mission itself is. However, with some cunning, a little luck and a pinch of falsehoods here and there he is able to acquire a couple of knights, a thief, a mercenary, and one of the worst bandits since Jesse James. Also, there is Reese the Fixer, a mechanical genius that can repair anything from a wristwatch to a tank. Sounds like something you have heard before until you realize that the knights are chasing the thief and the mercenary is working for both sides. The bandit is in disguise and Reese the Fixer is a mental case only going along to make sure that Blaze does not leave Red Mountain alive.
