The Immigrant-A Collection of 120 Short Stories is the author?s first book of fiction. The main character in the book, Marco Donnatti, is an immigrant from Peru who is interviewed by a Los Angeles reporter. Marco tells the reporter his recollections of growing up in poverty, his passion for soccer, his adventures as a college student, his first real job as a teacher, his unwitting entanglement with politics at the University, and his searching for a new job. When, like a miracle, he receives a job offer from the U. S., he applies for a green card and becomes an immigrant in 1963. He also tells the reporter about his becoming a workaholic and his opinions on life, death, science, war, and his adaptation to the American way of life.
