This is an autobiography about a kid who grew up in rural Alabama with a dream of becoming a sailor. This book contains events that happened in his growing up years through his induction into the United States Navy. It continues on to tell about his military career, from A-bomb testing in the South Pacific to launching sorties off the coast of North Vietnam. It was the authors intention that this book may, in some way, serve as an inspiration to some of the younger generation and perhaps spur some of the older generation into putting their memoirs into print. Recruiters may also find it valuable for young people thinking of the military as a career.
