Annabel or the (sexual) Adventures of a Good Girl portrays the brave struggles of a small town girl who dreams of becoming a celebrated actress. To fulfil her quest, she sets out for West Berlin, the newly thriving showcase of capitalism, to attend drama school, and more urgently, find sexual adventure. Since her widowed father, whom she adores, has never told her about the birds and the bees, she stumbles into one hilarious encounter after another. When she finally meets her prince, he breaks her heart. She determines to make her career her lover, but her fairy-tale ideas about sex and love trip her up again and again.
