The weight of grief can be overwhelming. Death may be sudden, but it can linger for so long that it strangles hope, love, and even faith. Faithful Remembrances: Volume I brings together dozens of poems confronting the whirlwind of emotions often encountered after the death of a loved one. Written by two women whose lives have been touched by loss, the poems collected here are organized into sections honoring the lives of parents, children, friends, co-workers and lovers. Here are poems giving voice to the father who has buried his daughter; the daughter who has watched her father slip away; and the wife who may no longer catch the scent of her husband's cologne. Their words affirm the stages of grief and pain we all go through. Yet, these poems are more celebratory than mournful.
