Friedrich Carl Georg Kaiser (1878-1945) was a German expressionist dramatist who was one of the most frequently performed playwright in the Weimar Republic and sometimes collaborated with Kurt Weill. Originally titled Oktobertag, this play was performed in New York as The Phantom Lover.
