Joan Mary Shelmerdine
Joan Mary Shelmerdine (1899-1994) and Flora Margaret Grierson (1899-1966) established Samson Press, a small independent publishing company. After a fire destroyed their first location they moved to Woodstock in Oxfordshire. This company was unique in that it was run by two women. The town of Woodstock has a colorful history much of which centered around Blemhein Palace.
