When Mind and Flesh Depart

Publisher Marketing: A dead body is found in the New Mexico desert on the border between the city of Albuquerque and the Zuni Indian Reservation. What appears to be a routine homicide investigation becomes more complicated when a second dead body is found on the Zuni Reservation. Evidence starts to point to a killer living on the Reservation. Albuquerque Police Detective Manny DeLaCruz has little evidence and feels that the two dead bodies look like a Zuni problem. When a third dead body is discovered in a local Albuquerque cemetery - with signs that it matches the first two victims - his instincts tell him that something is very wrong. Zuni Tribal Police Officer Will Seciwa begins to believe that the killer is one of his own. Never before has he come across a case like this. His personal religious beliefs and tribal myths play with him as he moves forward trying to come to terms with an answer. The shame befalling the Zuni Tribe itself is at stake. Two different cultures searching for answers. Only when DeLaCruz and Seciwa begin to work together - despite their differences - do the two begin to understand. Someone is killing young boys in New Mexico and no one knows why. The killer leaves little evidence. His motive is unknown. The murders leave a city and an Indian Reservation horrified. Puzzled. Some things don't end well... Contributor Bio: Tucker, Clayton Clayton Tucker has written over 20 short stories and three novellas in his writing career.
