"These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son that thy Son also may glorify thee. (John 17:1)

Jesus knew that the work of salvation was finished, and he paid the price for your redemption on Calvary, and God has given Jesus power over all flesh that he shall give eternal life to as many as you have given him. You are not to fear the second death if you abide in the Word of God. His Word is life.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me. With the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name. (John 17: 5?6)

Jesus is telling us that the Word was in the beginning with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God, and the Word was made flesh. Our Holy Father has made us one with him, and he is the author and finisher of our salvation.
