I have tried to encompass my experience in the police with fictional incidents and put this book together, marrying the two and culminating in this book. I am a huge Emmylou Harris fan and have included her in this story without any damage to her reputation. Each part of the story is named from music I have in my collection 'mostly country and western' I have frequently changed the end of the book several times before opting with this one. The raising the dead/tragedy part is real and I was in charge of the operation in retrieving the body lodged in the mud at the quay side. The botched bank robbery is also true and I was again one of the sergeants involved, most of the rest of the book is fictional but some of the characters are based on people I know
