Jake Thomas and the Book of Destiny Ninth Eyed

Jake Edward Thomas is born in the New Order-a world without war. He is different from other children in school; he likes to ask "why," while other children are content believing what their teachers say. Jake has too many questions-questions that could get him in trouble.

One night, the New Order Police arrive for Jake's best friend, Jos; she has been labeled an "undesirable," and Jake blames himself for her disappearance. Quickly, Jake is forced to consider the horrors of the outside world. His grandfather explains the facts of the long-ago war, and Jake now realizes his own life might be in danger. He may end up like Jos.

The sudden change of events in Jake's peaceful life has something to do with a mysterious man named Jack and the Book of Destiny, now in Jake's possession. On the run, Jake has trouble recognizing friend or foe, especially when there is a demon out for his soul. The Book of Destiny will guide Jake's way, but will the young man live to make his new world a better place?
