Eddy's Little Budget Book
Eddy Lewis
Loving the freedom and joy of a budget that works. In the nostalgic fifties Eddy graduates high school at 17 and goes to work for Western Electric Co. a division of the Bell System. He meets Freda, a beautiful farm girl from Weiser, Idaho and marries her. They see army posts during Eddy's two-year stint in the Army. They travel together until the children come along and then settle in Boise, Idaho where Eddy transfers to a local Bell company so they can be together as a family, minus the traveling. They want to own their home and avoid paying interest and have enough finances to do the things they want to do. Eddy develops a personal budgeting system. It serves them well for 57 years of marriage. Along the way circumstances arise and he realizes he can help couples with their budgeting and meets with couples and gives seminars and brown bag luncheons. They travel and camp and enjoy the years of raising children. They spend eighteen months on a mission in England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Good times. Five children and 25 Grandchildren and 21 Great Grandchildren and 57 years later, quite unexpectedly, Freda's heart fails her. This book is dedicated to that young wife who lived with the budget and captured his heart and after 57 lovely years left him a broken-hearted budgeteer writing a book.
