These values, Christain faith, family, a tradition of carrying on from past to future progress, are increasingly abandoned by Americans themselves. who turn towards the ideas of money and power as a means of escape from the more negative aspects of the old values. As the stories and their subjects progress, we see them increasingly dehumanized by their own machinery.
