They call themselves saved but will not allow you to be. Every step of progress you make is a disturbance and damage to their false standards, status, and reputation that is really of ill repute. They see your ascension as a show-off and a show out that makes them look unfit, unblessed, and inadequate. They see themselves as left behind and see you as a threat.
