Alan Keightley, born in 1944, worked for the British Rail for eight years before going to theological college. He graduated with first class honors in Theology from Bristol University in 1971, and completed his doctoral studies at Birmingham University in 1974. Dr. Keightley was head of Religious Studies at Walton High School, Halesowen, Worchestershire, and a Methodist local preacher.
