Sam Reed, a former hitman turned masked vigilante, is back as the Specter in his third exciting adventure. An explosion in the heart of the city puts Sam on the trail of a deadly group of kidnappers who are snatching the children of some of the city's most influential citizens. Sam enlists the help of his friends, Red Donnelly and Jack McNulty, and together they uncover a plot far more sinister than first thought. Whoever is taking these children is looking for more than just ransom. Once again, Sam's investigation puts him at odds with law enforcement, including the district attorney, Robert McIntyre. Only this time, McIntyre has bigger things to worry about than the Specter. With lives hanging in the balance, including those of three young children, the Specter sets his deadly sights on finding those responsible. But can he save the children and stop the kidnappers without losing his own life in the process?
