Elizabeth travels aboard the Kansas Pacific Railway with her precious cargo-her young son and her hopes and dreams. Although the train moves along slowly, Elizabeth feels as though she is hurtling toward her unknown future. One month has passed since September first, when her husband, Samuel, had set out on the Kansas Pacific's maiden train to Denver City to start building their home on Stetson Creek; one they both hope will be the start of their farm and cattle ranch in Colorado territory. Elizabeth and Samuel put their hope and trust in God as they work to build Stetson Creek Ranch. Through the seasons of planting and harvest, they weather life's storms and trials together. God's love and provision flow like the water in Stetson Creek, and like coveted gold nuggets-friendships are found and hearts are healed.
