She was just a child, but author Quanshavia Green had experienced more than any child should undergo. Raped by a cousin, she began developing maladaptive behavior patterns of abuse toward her siblings and disregard for the suffering of others. This only intensified with her father's abandonment of the family, being one of eight children, and being misunderstood by family who weren't seeing her isolation and behavior as a cry for help. Quanshavia shares in her autobiography, Save Me!!!, how overcoming her trauma became harder as she grew up, due to difficulties with her mother and the emotional baggage she battled with in complicated relationships with men. All she wanted to know was that God had a plan for this journey and that one day she would no longer be a victim. Thankfully, at our lowest point is when God can be found in trials and bring healing for our wounds.
