It is an ordinary day for the children who live in the apartment building at the end of Alice Street, ordinary, that is, until a dragon named Gorwin knocks on the door and asks for their help to save the King of the Whales. Being brave children with a special love of animals, they say yes, of course, and so begins the greatest adventure of their lives. Gorwin and his mate Gandwina must fly them all the way to Antarctica to find the whales but not before some comically delightful stops along the way and more humans and animals to help.
