Preacher's Kid is a collection of vignettes based on the life of a girl growing up in a country preacher's family during the nineteen fifties. Churches in South Georgia and the people whose lives merged with the girl provide the reader an opportunity to view life as it was during the nineteen fifties. Rich in culture, the vignettes provide a legacy for future generations to enjoy. _______________________________________________________________________ Joyce Lee Herndon is a retired elementary school teacher who lives with her husband, Wayne, and Asher, her beloved dog, in Cairo, Georgia. She is a mother and grandmother. She is active in her church, First Baptist Church, where she teaches an adult Sunday School Class, teaches Bible in a jail ministry for women, facilitates small group Bible studies, participates in Elijah, a drama team, and sings in the adult choir. Joyce writes a column, Glancing Back, in the Cairo Messenger, a local paper. Several of her short stories and poems have appeared in publication. She enjoys her family and friends, writing, and teaching. Joyce grew up the middle child in a country preacher's home during the nineteen fifties which provides the backdrop for her vignettes. _______________________________________________________________________
