On a beautiful English farm, with rolling green hills, tucked under white snowcapped mountains, lived the Shepherd and the Man. Violet, the proud and noble barn cat, tells the tale of one cold and snowy night when two sweet lambs Millie and Max were born and then orphaned.

In this story, she explains how Millie and Max learn who their family is and tells them how they still have a Mama who will love and keep them safe.

Betsy McPherson is a retired nurse, empty nester, and knitter, who is now raising a flock of Romney sheep at Love Ewe Farm in Montpelier, Virginia. Her debut story, Daisy and the Shepherd, was swirling in her head as she bottle-fed a tiny lamb named Tom Thumb. Her second story was born out of the real experiences that sadly occur on farms every lambing. Shepherds play many roles, and Mama is one of them! Betsy lives with her husband and farmhand, Kevin-they have two wonderful daughters, Maddie and Allie.
